Our homestead photographs
These photographs, identified as being in Diss (2mi. west of Scole), were likely obtained in 1867 during a visit by William Gooderham, age 77, and his grandson W.G.Gooderham age 14. Family lore says this was where William, Ezekiel and Elizabeth grew up and where their parents and their grandparents lived.
A remark by T.G. Blackstock in 1950 has a bearing on this. Her memory of Confederation Day (July 1,1867),is that her brother Will was in England with her grandfather and on that day she drove with her mother up to "Uncle Zekiels" who was the Baptist Minister at York Mills.
