WH Beatty was a solicitor for the Gooderham and Worts firm during the mid to late 19th century. He married Charlotte Louisa Worts, the eldest daughter of James Gooderham Worts. As part of the family and also a very influential lawyer, he became invaluable to both JG Worts and Wm Gooderham. Beatty, his wife and their children lived at their residence, called The Oaks, which was located on Queens Park Cres.

Worts & Gooderham plots - St James Cemetery.jpg
St. James Cemetery, on Toronto's Parliament St, is the site of the final resting spots for Wm Gooderham, James G Worts and the founders of the Gooderham and Worts Distillery. At some point in the past - perhaps during the 1970s - the angel that decorated the original Gooderham monument was stolen or damaged, perhaps by a fallen tree.
